Hello!
Well, it was a long ride in the envelope, but I finally arrived in
Kawaguchi, Japan!

Kawaguchi is very close to Tokyo. The word "Kawaguchi" means "The
mouth of the river." The river runs all through town.

I got here in time to celebrate "Golden Week," a week in Japan that has
five holidays! The last one is called "Children's Day," and there
are fish kites hung up everywhere for kids!

There is a lot to see in Japan. There's even a big lion!

The lion is right by the train station. "JR" means "Japan Rail,"
and everybody rides the train to work!

Here it comes!

The train can be very busy. Should we get on?

Let's get a seat.

OK, let's follow Chad to work! But first, we need to have some
breakfast. Hmm, what should we eat?

How about a sandwich?

OK, now let's meet the people who work with Chad.

His office is in Urawa, Japan. It's very busy!

After working all day, we should get some lunch!

It's popular in Japan to make the "V" sign when people take your
picture, but no one seems to know why!

Even though I'm in Japan, I'll eat some American food. Hamburgers
are very popular here!

So, what do we do with the rest of the day? In Japan, there are a
lot of shrines. Shrines are where important things are kept for a
religion called Shinto.

Remember, it's Children's Day! You can celebrate Children's Day
by playing in a big fish at he shopping mall!

A bunch of kids jump up and down inside the fish with their
friends. I even found another flat friend!

After I had my exercise, Chad had some exercise too. He goes to a
gym in Kawaguchi.

OK, we're both tired! But before we go home, let's get some
dinner at the grocery store!

That's sushi. Sushi means "rice with vinegar," and people in
Japan eat it with fish, vegetables, and sometimes eggs.
Wow, I'm tired! Time to go to bed and get mailed back to
America. See you soon!
