Let's play a game.

Take a good, long look at this picture.

Notice there are six guys.  Well, OK, it's just one guy six times, but bear with me.

Here's the challenge: look at each one of the six.  Now, consider their facial expressions and posture.  Keeping these things in mind, see if you can guess what each had for dinner the night before.  You may want to get a pen and paper to write your answers down.

Ready?  Go!  When you're finished, scroll down to check your answers.

1: Shredded wheat.

2: A big bowl of rice.

3: Curry (Mild.)

4: Curry (Spicy.)

5: Two Pounds Of Cheese and a Bagel.

6: Nothin' But Beer

So, how did you do?

OK, I'm slowly figuring out how my way around this new camera.  It's quite a bit better than the last one.  I had a geek moment last page with the billboard, but I really was able to get some shots that wouldn't have worked with the other one.

Case in point: I've taken shots of Shibuya Crossing before (supposedly the busiest intersection in the world," but the people looked like a bunch of dots.  Now...

Unfortunately, I did not get the number of the woman in the middle.

Well, the cherry blossoms come out this month, so I'll be returning to some of the places I went the past few years and try my hand at those shots again.

Although it's early, the unusually warm weather means that some of the trees are getting a jump on the season.

I (finally) saw Damo Suzuki perform last week.  For those of you who have no idea who that is, he was the lead singer for the 70s "Krautrock" band Can.  Damo is the kind of cool that inspires bands to name themselves after him (The Mooney Suzuki, named after Damo and the previous Can singer, Malcolm Mooney,) and he even inspired The Fall (a fairly legendary band in their own right) to write a song called "I Am Damo Suzuki."

Not only did I finally get to see one of my heroes, I got to see him perform from about four feet away.

The vapor trails, while nice, are something I'd like to eliminate from my concert shots.  Unfortunately, flash photography is a no-no.  I need to figure out a work around.

Although stuff like this IS kind of cool.

Remember Flat Stanley?  Well, my friend Dan got one.  His Japanese is better than mine, so his pictures were a bit more...interesting.

We also went to the Tokyo Dome.  Across the street is an amusement park, with a rollercoaster that goes through a building.

There were also, inexplicably, happy rocks.

Equally inexplicable were the assorted things that, well, kind of write their own captions.

Don't mind if I do!

*sigh*

(Ironically, it's an Indian restaurant.)

I wonder what could have possibly caused the editors of this magazine to choose the name "Happie Nuts."

Yeah.  Either that, or those two are packing a surprise.

OK, that's it for this month.  I'd like to leave you with some maternal nagging, the kind we've all heard.  To wit:

"How many times have I told you?  See what happens when you don't chew your food?"

As always, mail me here
